Orangey Gin Cocktail

Note: This post was originally published on my old lifestyle blog, monicadutia.com.

Popping in for one last post before the new year to share an incredibly simple yet festive cocktail if you're playing bartender this year! I didn't have any on hand at the time, but you could easily add cranberries or a spring of rosemary to make things visually festive for the holiday. These go down a little too easily so proceed with caution...! If you love finding excuses to use coup glasses and are looking for a martini alternative, this cocktail will totally do the trick. (My glasses are a few years old from Sloans & Kenyon–highly recommend if you're in the DMV and love to hunt for treasures–but I linked some other coupes below.)Hope you have a safe, happy holiday despite the circumstances this year! Cheers to a much needed fresh start in 2021 :)

Orangey Gin Cocktail

  • 1 oz gin (I prefer Hendricks, but any good one will do)

  • 2 oz prosecco

  • 1/4 oz Grand Marnier

  • Lemon peel

  1. In a cocktail shaker or glass that's easy to pour from, add all three ingredients and stir gently to combine.

  2. Pour cocktail into coup or champagne glass.

  3. Garnish with lemon peel. (I gently rub the peel together between my fingers to release extra flavor, and give it a swipe on the edge of the glass before adding it to the cocktail.)
