Maple Hot Toddy Recipe

Note: This post was originally published on my old lifestyle blog, monicadutia.com.

Hot Toddies are my favorite cold weather beverage and while we've been making them regularly over the past few years, I've tended to eyeball the ingredients and never consistently recreated the same version...until now! J has been dabbling in "bartending" at home and came up with what I think is the winning combination–particularly when created with maple bourbon (we used this one from Knob Creek). You can use whatever bourbon you want and I've also made hot toddies with brandy, so the sky is the limit! Some people steep tea for the base and others add cloves...it really just depends on your preferences. While it's a fun cocktail to order at a bar, it's simple to make at home and requires minimal ingredients–making it ideal to whip up in the colder months!

I also ordered four of these glasses a couple of months ago and they've definitely earned their keep in our limited kitchen cabinet space! We typically only use them for hot toddies (which have become a regular thing over here) but you could definitely use them for coffee, tea, hot chocolate, etc...or even cold beverages if you're looking for a taller glass with a handle! They're pretty inexpensive at $4 a piece and ship free.
